CLASS
OFFICERS:
The Freshman class
of '28-'29 entered high school one hundred and twenty-five
         strong. The upper classmen thought us green, shy, and timid;
but that did not retard our progress. Mr. Fredericks
became our sponsor, and if we live to the ripe old age of
Methuselah, we will never forget his faithful work with our
         class. We were accustomed
to class organization in the grades, so we began to look
among our number for leaders. We chose the following
officers: Glen Price, President; Eleanor Fowler,
         Vice-President; and Ray Mudd,
         Secretary-Treasurer. We found high
school life very interesting. We began to look around us for
opportunities to display our abilities. We became interested
in basketball, and we began to work so that we might take
part in the interclass tournament. Meleese Atwood and Ruth
Styx made the squad. We are looking forward to both becoming
outstanding players. Some of our boys
went out for football and later basketball. The following
helped entertain us by playing in the orchestra: Rebecca
Stein, Dorothy Whitla, Willis McQueary, Clayton Hartford,
Robert Clark, Glen Price, Donald Mattingly, and Claude
         Charles. Mary Maxine Powell
and Wilma Mount had prominent parts in the high school
operetta, The Toreadors. We are very proud
of the fact that our class has been well represented on the
honor roll every six weeks. A few of our
members joined the Dramatic Club, The Red and White Peppers,
the G.R., and the Hi-Y. We are looking
forward to the remaining years of our high school course
with much anticipation for the interesting things it has in
store for us. LEFT TO RIGHT,
