DECEMBER 12, 1911 - JANUARY 1, 1970 Funeral services for Raymond G. Renoe, band director at
Osawatomie High for the past 25 years, were held Sunday
afternoon in the Eddy Funeral Home. Burial was in the
Osawatomie Cemetery. Mr. Renoe died at his home Thursday, January 1, 1970. He
was 58. He had been in failing health since undergoing lung
surgery about two years ago. Born Dec. 12, 1911 at Norton, Mr. Renoe attended the
schools there and graduated from Norton High in 1930. He attended Bethany College at Lindsborg and Ft. Hays
State College. He received a Bachelor of Music Degree in
education from the University of Kansas in 1939. Before coming here, he had been an instructor of vocal
and instrumental music as well as band director at high
schools at Almena, Atwood, and St. Francis. He was married to Miss Dorothy M. Bullock at Norton Feb.
25, 1933. She survives. Other survivors include one son,
Ronald, Mission; mother, Mrs. Cora Renoe, Norton; and a
sister Mrs. Neva Wray, Wichita. Mr. Renoe was a member of Osage Valley Lodge No. 24 A.F
and A.M.. He was chairman of the Advisory Council to the
local Order of DeMolay Chapter for a number of years and
held the Legion of Honor citation. In addition, he was a
past president of the local Rotary Club and was a member of
the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert Peters oficiated at the services. Music
was provided by Mrs. Nell Dollar. Pallbearers were Clayton
Hartford, Howard Barnes, Ernest L. Swenson, George A. York,
William R. Butler, Jr. and John David Cole.
