RICHARD GREGG

CLASS OF 1960 

JANUARY 7, 1942 - SEPTEMBER 6, 1970

Funeral services for Richard Lynn Gregg, 28, a former resident of Osawatomie, were held Wed. afternoon at the Julien-Fleming-Amos Family Funeral Home. Burial was in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gregg and a 24 year old companion, Mrs. Willa S. Dunn, Overland Park, were killed Sunday night when the single-engine plane he was piloting crashed into a pasture near 150th Street and Mission Road in Leawood.

Bodies of both were found slumped in the cockpit of the Cessna 150. Authorities still haven't established the exact cause of the crash which occurred shortly after takeoff from the Hillside Airport in Leawood.

Mr. Gregg, an assistant air controller for the FDA in Olathe, was born in Iola, Jan 7, 1942. He lived in Osawatomie for 13 years and graduated from high school there in 1960. He had lived here the past 10 years.

A licensed commercial pilot, Mr. Gregg had served in the US Navy from 1960 to 1964. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Osawatomie.

Survivors include his parents, Mr and Mrs Willie E. Gregg, Olathe; two sisters, Mrs Darlene Downen, Overland Park and Mrs. Karen Sue King, Kansas City, MO
