ROSALIE WARD CONNER

 CLASS OF 1958

DECEMBER 1940 - JANUARY 2013

Rosalie Ward Conner was born in December, 1940 in the home of
her parents, Chester and Verna Ward of Kinsley, Kansas. When
she was a baby, the family moved to Colorado Springs where
Chester served in the Army during WW II.

Rosalie loved the mountains and started school in Colorado Springs.

After the war the family moved back to Kinsley and then to Osawatomie where they farmed southwest of town. Rosalie attended Fairview Elementary school and Osawatomie High School graduating in 1958.

She graduated from K-State with a degree in Technical Journalism and foreign languages.

Rosalie married Charles Conner. They are parents of Ryan, Ethan, and Lynette. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren all of whom survive.

Rosalie became self-educated in nutrition demanding that all family members give up sugar and all other poisonous foods! She was a substitute teacher and devoted member of her church. She loved teaching Sunday School and taught at every level.

Rosalie took care of everyone. She would bring the unlovable home to love them, and save them, and teach them to pray.

She took in stray animals as well, at one time having adopted a dog and six cats. Other times she took in birds and even a turtle that some soldier had brought home from Afghanistan and she found abandoned.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She is survived by one brother, Lawrence Ward, and one sister, Mary Buster.

Rosalie entered Heaven in January 2013. God had to send Security Angels to calm her enthusiasm at having met her goal--being in the presence of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, as well as greeting all whom had gone before her!

Rosalie's family will be celebrating her life Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Old Stone Church in Osawatomie. Visitors are welcome 2-4 p.m.
