HERMAN EUGENE WARRICK

March 18, 1932 - March 21, 1990

Final rites for Herman Eugene Warrick, Route 1, Parker, were held Saturday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. Mr. Warrick, 58, died Wednesday, March 21, 1990, after suffering a heart attack at his home.

Born March 18, 1932 in Osawatomie, he was the son of Wallace William and Bertha Olive Spellman Warrick. He grew up in Osawatomie and attended local school, graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1950.

He and Charlotte L. Maycumber were married May 17, 1953 in Osawatomie and they became the parents of three children.

The family moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1961 where he was a heavy equipment mechanic and welder for Kiewest, Inc. in Valdez from 1975 until 1977. He was also a building maintenance mechanic for the state of Alaska.

They returned to Osawatomie in 1979 and moved to their present home in Parker in 1983.

On Feb. 1, 1984, Mr. Warrick began working at the Osawatomie State Hospital as power plant operator. He resigned Sept. 25, 1988 because of failing health.

He served in the United States Navy Reserve, the United States Navy and the United States Air Force.

He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Anchorage, Alaska; the operating engineers union; and the machinist union.

Among those preceding him in death were a brother, Donald Dean Warrick, and a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Warrick.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte of the home; two sons, Jason Wallace Warrick, Kansas City, Kans., and Jared Bliss Warrick of the home; a daughter, Catherine Lee Warrick Smith, Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother, Gary Warrick, Booneville, Ark.; a sister, Karen Clayville, Monument, Colo.; and a granddaughter.

The Rev. G. R. Hoerner officiated. Music was provided by the organist, Lois Bisig, and congregational singing. Pallbearers were Jason Warrick, Byron Pennington, Bobby Gibbons, Davin Dickerson, George Maycumber, Ralph Jenkins, Erick Dickerson and Him Clayville. Military services were held in the funeral home.

Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.
