MARY BUMGARNER WHITE

CLASS OF 1949

SEPTEMTER 16, 1931 - JUNE 17, 1974

Last rites for Mrs. Mary Clara White, 1144 Chestnut Ave., were held Thursday in Birchard Funeral Home. Mrs. White, 42, died June 17 in the University of Kansas Medical Center following a long illness.

A native of Osawatomie, she was born September 16, 1931. Her parents were John W. and Mary Baffrey Bumgarner. She spent her entire life here and was a 1949 graduate of Osawatomie High. On November 18, 1967, she married D. L. (Vernie) White.

Mrs. White was a member of the United Methodist Church of Osawatomie.

Survivors include her husband of the home; five children, Bill Russell and Nancy Rayl, Osawatomie, Mary Ann Russell, Paola, and Raymond and Mike Russell, of the home; her mother, Mrs. Mary Bumgarnet, Osawatomie; four half-sisters, Hazel Spears and Grace Shively, Osawatomie, maxine Sampson, Topeka, and Ada Lee Linton, Detroit, MI; a half-brother, Junior Bumgarner, Osawatomie; and one grandson.

The Rev. Larry Johnston officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mrs. Glenn Ricketts and Mrs. Charles Heckart accompanied by Mrs. John Dollar, Organist. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Jimmy, Johnny and Richard Bumgarner, Fred Heintz, Charles Shively and Gary Spears. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.
