CHARLES M. CASE

DECEMBER 4, 1904 - JUNE 25, 1973

Charles M. Case, 68, Carthage, MO former resident of Paola and Osawatomie, died Monday morning, June 25, 1973 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO. Mr. Case had been in ill health for three years.

He was born on December 4, 1904 in Osawatomie, the fifth child of John M. Case and Isabel Hart Case. He attended Osawatomie schools and was a 1923 graduate of Osawatomie High School. Mr. Case had lived in the Osawatomie area until moving to the Neosho area in 1959. Until retiring Mr. Case was an agent and telegrapher in various stations as well as a brakeman and switchman on the Missouri Pacific Railroad. More commonly known as ' Nixy ' Case, he also had his own plumbing business. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 24 and later transferred to Masonic Lodge No. 247 at Neosho, MO. Mr. Case was a member of the Christian church Diamond, MO.

On August 31, 1928 he was united in marriage to Vivian Freda Eden in Joplin, MO.

Surviving are his widow, Vivian, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Jo Cooper, Diamond, MO;two brothers, Frank W. Case, Paola and J. L. Case, Osawatomie; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held June 27 at the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, MO with burial in the Diamond cemetery.
