CLASS OF 1920 Funeral services for Freda Carolyn Hahn Elliott, 66, who died at the Miami County Hospital October 10, 1968 following several months’ illness, were held in the Eddy Funeral Home, Osawatomie, Sunday, October 13, at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Peters and Rev. June Worden officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Bessie Elkinton and Mrs. Edith Shepherd accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Ida Phares. Mrs. Elliott was born near Home City, Marshall County, January 16, 1902. She moved to Osawatomie with her parents in 1904. She graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1920 and after attending the Teachers college at Emporia taught in several Miami county rural schools. On July 31, 1926 she was married to Hamilton Elliott at her parents’ home, three miles south of Osawatomie. To them two sons were born, Harold D. and Joseph C. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Methodist Church, Philathea class, WSCS Ladies Aid of the Spring Grove Friends church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the World War I Barracks. Surviving are the two sons; her brother, Walter Hahn of Lane; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers at the services were LeRoy Bromell, Milo Day, Lloyd Wilson, Lawrence Kim, C . C. Burns and Ernest Cook. Veterans of Foreign Wars Services were held at the grave. Burial was in the Lane cemetery. |
